Well, not exactly today, but this Tuesday I when to the Acer’s tech support to reclaim my netbook, as many people said on the first post, the problem was the CPU Fan, they just replace the Fan, and then put the HDD again and tested the hardware, so far everything looks ok, Now I need to catch up again with some Debian work, I have some people asking me to sponsor some packages, and I stil have a couple of bugs that was solved on my local git repo.

December 12th, 2009Desde ya casi mas de un año decidí escribir en Ingles en mi blog , la explicación en el primer post en Ingles: http://churropolis.org/?p=1053.
Desde hace buen rato mi blog esta bastante muerto, no es como antes que posteaba sobre mi día a día, todo esto debido a un problema personal/emocional que en principio me alejo un par de meses, pero después se convirtió en lo común.
Actualmente mi blog casi que no habla mas nada que un par de coas que a mi criterio son importantes(un criterio muy subjetivo), parte de usar el blog ahora es para contar un par de cosas en planet.debian.org, para esto es necesario que los posts vayan en Ingles, y pues siempre mantengo dos categorias y posts en español simplemente no aparecen en ningún planet.
Por el momento no pienso volver a escribir a diario y contar mi vida personal en el blog, tengo poco tiempo libre, y simplemente ya no me parece lo mejor, por lo que quizás la mayoría de mis posts pueda que sean en Ingles, no pienso dejar de escribir en español, pero tampoco pienso dejar de escribir en ingles, y no pienso hacer dos posts en Ingles y Español.
Gracias a los pocos lectores que crean, y a los comentarios buenos y malos.
Acer support, so far looks nice
December 5th, 2009Yesterday I went to the local support service center for Acer at El Salvador, I realize that I bought my Acer One on Dic 21 2008, so the warranty is still valid 
, my first concern was my HDD, since at the time the netbook fails I did have a copy of my GPG Key on a non encrypted file system, also all my data was on the HDD and I did not want to leave my computer with my data on the hands of a $RANDOM tech support.
It took me like 15 minutes to convince the representative to remove my HDD before I leave the netbook, but they agree, and they even agree on let me see when they remove the HDD before give it to me, for me this looks like a nice tech support, I actually thought that they will refuse to follow this «extrange» request, and I even thought that they will be refuse to admit the computer, since the original OS was no longer installed.
The netbook should be up and running this Thursday yay!
R.I.P Acer One
November 29th, 2009This weekend while I was on Guatemala just a few hours before to give a talk, my acer one decided to suddenly shut down, I tried to started again, remove the battery, plug the charger, etc, I actually even tried to boot it with some liv-usb distro, but the netbook keep shutting down a few seconds after boot 
I’m still not sure what happend to the computer, it could be the motherboard or the HDD, I still have to check if it can be fixed…
Sadly, this was my «main» computer, I always used for almost everything, even for task when building a package tooked 50 minutes :p, but I’m lucky since I did not loose any senssitive data (in case the problem is the HDD), and I still have other computers where I can work, but I still need to get used to a bigger screen/keyboard.

¿Qué pasa cuando se acaba la batería?
August 28th, 2009Un día un amigo en el aeropuerto Augusto C. Sandino me dijo: «Es bueno andar dos laptops, así cuando se le acaba la batería a una, todavía tenes otra laptop» quizás llegue ahora a parafresear un poco, pero era algo así, y ciertamente es divertido, por que ahore pude sacar la otra laptop de la mochila y despedirme de la gente en el IRC y escribir este post.

Pues hace varios días que no escribo nada en el blog, trate en algún momento de motivarme mas para escribir, pero siempre se me termina complicando.
Pues bueno, logre ir a DebConf, por suerte en el trabajo me dieron el permiso y pude pasar también unas buenas vacaciones, viajando un poco….
ahora a recuperar mi bolsillo de todo el gasto que dejaron estas vacaciones.
Para los curiosos, mi vida sigue igual, trabajando hasta tarde, con poco tiempo, con mucho que hacer, con demasiados pendientes, siempre los mismos días en el mismo bar, y todo igual como siempre, así que no hay mucho que contar
